Tide hits the hardwood at 1:00 PM for a much-needed win...
Now, the Crimson Tide has wandered into the 'must-win game' category. It isn't like going to hell, but it's on the edge of purgatory. We can see the light, but you can feel the heat. Some teams respond with new found confidence and others stoke the fire of defeat. I've picked Bama to win today by 13. I have no idea why that number came to mind. It certainly isn't a lucky number. Maybe an unlucky number will bring luck to an unlucky team. Looking back over the season this team has had their share of unlucky last-second shots on their home floor.
Not today. I think Alabama has too much size and length to lose this game in Coleman. There is simply too much on the line to play poorly at home. If the Tide can't beat Florida at home don't hold your breath win LSU and Auburn comes to town. Alabama has set the stage for an end of season meltdown or a stunning comeback from a team which is just above average. I might even tip the scales in favor of saving a good team. With an upcoming schedule like Alabama, they need to be better than good, and I think it could start today. However, with this team you can never feel safe, can you?
The Tide is a 3.5 point favorite today. That would be because of the home court advantage. Florida is 5-6 in the SEC and Bama is 6-5. The Tides to move to 7-5 to keep their NCAAT bid hopes alive. If the Gators feel confident it might be because it has been 13 years since they have lost in Tuscaloosa. Alabama looks to end that skid today.
The Gators have been on life-support for quite a while and Alabama is going to pull the plug today and send the Gators to NIT land. I think Alabama's defense, despite some problems, will be able to shut down the Gator. Florida's offense has been placed on the sleep mode of late. If Florida wants to win this game the better be able to score more than 70 and I can't see that happening. If Alabama can make the Gators run the score Alabama will win. Tide fans are surprised to see the Gators NET ahead of Alabama.
Look for Petty and Mack to find some room over the smaller Florida size. I think Hall will be a nightmare inside today.
